Spending

We haven't been very careful with our money and although I put money into savings we now only have about $30 in checking for the next two weeks I do have cash for the jars and we have gas in both vehicles that should last, one for at least a week and the other for the next two weeks. I have had to buy clothes for my kids since they seem to have outgrown all of their shorts. I only got two shirts and two shorts. I'll have to be careful for the next two weeks as I don't want to have to take money out of savings unless it's a dire emergency.

Updates

Well we've been pretty good with our money except today we went out to eat but we haven't gone out all week which is unusual for us. I work the next few days and we still need to get Fourth of July Fireworks so we'll be taking more money out of the checking account for those things but payday is Thursday and I've already pre-paid everything and arranged for them to be paid on Monday.

Surprise Bill

Today we got a surprise medical bill in the mail and after I called and spoke with them (I had paid it off I thought in April) the lady informed me that this was a completely different bill, I said well I have been tossing out the bills from you guys since I thought I had paid it and since it has the exact same account number I figured it was a mistake. Well she informed me that it was a completely different bill and that one had been sent to collections but if I wanted to pay it now I wouldn't get contacted by collections, I opted to pay the entire bill via EFT since I don't trust them as far as I can toss them and I told her that since it was nearly the same amount as the one I had paid off in April and the same account number I thought it was dumb of them to keep the same account numbers for each doctor and since it never once listed who the amounts were for I had no idea that it was for different doctors (it just puts the total amounts due in the bill.) Fortunately I keep all my EOBs and I made her go thru them to account for every penny. And then sent exactly what she told me the amount was to them via EFT.

Spending

We have been very careful to put every penny spent excluding our personal spending money into a spreadsheet that I made and we'll be very excited to see how this goes at the end of the month. Its been up and down at work lately and although I did have an opportunity to get overtime I was way too tired from my last two days at work that I decided that the overtime was not worth becoming sick to have. I'll see how it goes next time and decide on overtime if it becomes available then.

Update

Well we have been up and down with spending; we have been able to save some money. I do have have $1,000 Baby Emergency Fund up and running but work has been up and down lately so it makes it difficult to get a steady paycheck.

Spent $24.00 at the grocery store but I used Cash left over from last week and I still haven't taken money out for jars I'm going to see If I can put it off this week completely and use what we have in the pantry!

Today I''m going to make some Pizza dough and Bread plus work on my hobby stuff.

Also on my list is laundry, dishes and mopping the floors.

I shouldn't have to spend anything although I do need to go to the bank to get cash for my jars for the week.

Tuesday I bought coffee at work for myself and a friend $6.00 (used personal cash)

Wednesday should be a no spend day.

Saturday I spent on hobby stuff and books.

Sunday No Spend. 

Monday I sent $70.00 extra to my car payment which means with my next payment it will all go to the principal !!!!

Thursday- No Spend Day Friday- Paid all the bills for the next two weeks, got groceries and cash for jars. Also spent $611 on hobby stuff for hubby but this was planned along time ago and we had the cash for it. ~PBMFMM

Tuesday was a No Spend Day :-) Wednesday will be a NO Spend day also since I work, but tomorrow is payday so I'll be paying all the bills tomorrow and getting cash for my jars. ~PBMFMM

Spent $59.95 at the yard & garden store for new boots and some plants. ~PBMFMM

Sunday Spending

Spent $32.89 at the grocery store $20.00 in Gas for my car (I used cash I had on me) ~PBMFMM

Friday's spending was up and down. We had lunch together just the two of us for the first time in a very long time and spent $59.00.. Bought groceries/easter stuff $79.63. Paid a toll fee for the road $8.70. ~PBMFMM

Back in the Saddle again!!

So after a horrific March, we can only hope that April will be a much better month. We have $250.00 left in our checking account until next thursday and I have a party I am going to on Friday that I know I'll be spending money on. I need yes Need an item there and I won't have to pay tax if I get it at the party. We have started a ledger to help up keep better track of where our money goes and I also plan on getting a food journal app for my phone to keep track of eating habits as we both want to lose weight also. I will have OT on this next paycheck it will be put in the bank so we can get 1k in there for our BEF again. I never feel safe until I have that in the bank. Now if we can just get a meal plan going we would be much better off. ~PBMFMM

more bad news

Well more health issues have come our way that have pretty much maxed out our credit cards but not much we could do about it but pick ourselves up,dust off our butts and pick up again. So here we are starting over again. Well what's that saying....two steps forward,one step back!! ~pbmfmm

Update

We are here, just haven't had time to post due to work issues, we had a very, very spendy past few days and unfortunately most went on Credit Cards. But, and I mean a big but here, we did get our tax refund and I put it in the bank and now we have our $1,000 BEF again and boy do I feel better knowing it's in there.

Today we spent $39.34 on our weekly Pizza run. But I made $10.00 on a side gig.

Tomorrow we are off and I'll get money to refill our jars tomorrow.

We also received our Tax refund so that is in savings right now.

We have $220 left over from last paycheck but I'm sure with gas being over $4.00/gal that we are going to have to adjust our gas jar from $50 weekly to most likely $80 weekly, especially since we both have been working alot and doing odd hours so we are driving both our cars alot.. Bummer gas needs to go back down in price!!
